In reply to paragraph 8 of your

Despatch No. 109 of the 29th, of last March, I have the

honour to inform you that Mr. Crake is at present draw-

ing a salary of $225 a month and to recommend that he

be permanently appointed at the same rate of salary with

the addition of Exchange Compensation.
